Kitchen fun with Kids

Good morning cozy critters! Today we are going to talk about fun things to use while cooking or baking with kids. Now I know many have kids but this also works for grand kids, nephews and nieces. In today's society getting a kid off electronics can be hard. I now have seen teenagers not be able to make simple dish such as eggs. Well my goal is to change that. I got my kids interested in cooking by having them do fun things like making hot coco bombs. Below is a link to order your own hot coco bomb molds. This fun activity is super easy and fun. I gives them helpful skills like patients and reward for the work. what is nice is if you like you can make and sell them creating a system from which kids can learn from. So another helpful gadget to help kids in the kitchen is a thermometer. I know sounds odd right how is that suppose to get kids involved in the kitchen? Well if you are teaching them anything about cooking certain things like meats needs to be temp check so they understand what the meat looks like and feels like when cooked. We learned the hard way however this way they can look for themselves giving them more confidence as they go. This can also be used while making candy such as sugar glazed fruit or home made caramel. Now a really easy food to make that does not need a lot of ingredients that I believe a lot of people have forgotten about is making pasta. Now to help your little helper make this pasta a pasta roller really helps because rolling it out with a rolling pin can be difficult for younger kids. Now you guys can make your own raviolis and other pasta dishes for a fun night or day activity. Now for baking or adding ingredients I suggest a metal measuring set of cup and spoons. Reason I say metal is because I and the kids have one way or another broken the plastic ones that seem to only print the size on the handle of these cups so when it breaks you can no longer see what size it is. These are great way to introduce kids to fractions with fun prepping food. With my house hold I only have one set so when I am baking or cooking with the kids sometimes they have to share. This is where I introduce the math of fractions such as one kid may have the 1 cup but another needs to make 1 cup as well, so I will explain that two 1/2 cups will equal 1 cup. This will not only help with the cooking and baking aspect of life but also help with basic math faction skills as well. Well cozy critters that is all I have for today I hope you have a cozy day.
