Homesteading at home

Good morning cozy critter. Today we are going to set up to do homesteading in any home. Below are a couple of pictures of some homes that do some homesteading. I get not everyone can start a garden or have animals that help however there are things anyone can do to get started. Now to start canning is a huge part of this and can save you money in the long run. You can start with basics such as jams and sauces and work your way to other things to can. To get that started you will need a lot of masons jars and a sealer to properly seal your jars. Now there are methods of sealing without a sealer on your own however this is great for starters. Below are both mason jars and sealer both under 30$. Butter is always better fresh and can easily be made at home. All you need is a butter churner which I have linked up below. You can also make flavored butter such as garlic or sweet butter. All this helps get you started now we all can not grow a garden of our own fruit and veggies however you can easily grow your own herbs in any size place as long as you can water them and provide sunlight. Here is a starter kit with basic herbs below. Growing even your own herbs can be so rewarding because it grows normally more than you can use causing you to save the extra starting you on homesteading. These herbs you grew knowing no chemicals are on them. How about some bread. Making bread seems difficult but there are many easy recipes to make your own bread however my advice is getting a bread maker. Now this is a little more expensive to start but after you will never have to buy bread and its basically makes it for you. That means fresh bread when you want leading to less waste. Now you may know someone or are lucky enough to be able to get chickens that produce eggs. However chickens do not make egg cartons so getting a couple reusable egg cartons is very helpful. I know this something I recently learned is that you can easily make yogurt at home. Below is linked a simple yogurt maker less than 50$. Creating your own flavors and how sweet you want it perfect for families. Last but not the least is storage for the food you are now storing. This is a metal shelf allowing you to store a lot of full mason jars without thinking it could break. With all this getting started on your homesteading path has begun! stay cozy critters.
